One of my personal favorites - LABRADORITE - for me it is a magical gemstone and brought about my own spiritual re-awakening.
Discovered in 1770; its name is derived from the remote Canadian Eastern Peninsula known as Labrador. Labradorite has quickly been adopted as a power stone.
I had the chance of a lifetime - the ultomate pleasure of prospecting for three months where this beautiful stone lives - north of Nain in the wilds of Labrador about ten years ago. Wandering across barren hills over a wide rocky expanse of dark silvery gray stone; a “flash” of iridescent colour suddenly would catch my eye; I constantly felt that Gaia was “winking” at me.
I collected one tiny rare specimen displaying a full spectrum of colour. It resides on my altar. I keep other deep blue lake washed/worn pebbles in a small fountain - when the sunlight hits these stones just right, with the first flash I am instantly back to communing with the wilds of Labrador.
When first viewing Labradorite its charm is not generally noticed and you might even overlook it if you do not view from the proper position. BUT as soon as it winks at you - you also will be captured forever.

Labradorite’s "flash of light in the darkness" allows this stone to help us find our spiritual destiny. From within the stone’s deceptive darkness we can discover wise usage of our psychic abilities. Often this stone whispers to us in dream time of things that we cannot hear when awake.
Labradorite represents "the temple of stars", constantly sustaining and maintaining our base self. It makes the bridge between other evolved cosmic energies back to the Earth’s plane. The MOON aspect of this stone helps one to advance, without constraint, through the cycles of progression. Remarkably the SUN also is symbolized within each piece and this provides a bright vitality during the continuous transitions of life. This unique balance of light and dark makes Labradorite a powerful tool. The strength within the stone’s perfect balance can be used to wade through obstacles to emerge with a brighter personal spiritual light. Aura protection is another benefit from Labradorite. It cleanses clears and balances while sealing all holes in your aura to prevent leaking energy.

Labradorite is a great stone for teachers or anyone dealing with a stressful job, as this stone will help replenish your physical and emotional stamina. It enhances patience and the inner knowing of “the right time”. It can even 'kick start' the energy necessary to get into action.
Keep/wear Labradorite to stimulate your imagination, or when your inner child needs play time. You may even find some bright new ideas suddenly shining through. Labradorite helps you to rediscover your childlike enthusiasm for life and bestows a lively although sometimes rather erratic creativity. Labradorite brings about recognition of your inherent analytical and rational abilities.
Quietly it also allows you to easily enter and maintain a meditative state.
Labradorite is a solar plexus stone. Use it to help regulate metabolism and assist in the digestive process. It can help to lower blood pressure, clarify your vision, both physical and spiritual, plus brings relief from colds, rheumatic illnesses and gout. Something we all can use is its help to detoxify our overall body system.
Labradorite supports the balance between wet/dry and hot/cold. This stone is very good for enhancing night vision, and can be of great help in developing the ability to see auras.
